First add colors and then later add options and link the appropriate colors to the appropriate options. For example add 10 paint colors and then later add an LP Smartside Siding option. Within the Siding option select the “allowable colors”.
Setup Colors for Options
Add Paint, Metal, Vinyl and Stain Colors
Navigate to System > Catalogs > Color
Click Add Color
Fill out the required fields
Name – It is helpful to apply a naming convention that specifies what the color is for e.g. “Blue (paint)”
Hex Code – You can use a variety of tools to get hex codes for your colors. Here is a free online option: https://imagecolorpicker.com/
Short Code – This can be used later in the serial number template if you require
Is Active – Yes

Add Shingle Textures
Navigate to System > Catalogs > Color
Click Add Color
Fill out the required fields
Name – It is helpful to apply a naming convention that specifies what the color is for e.g. “Charcoal (shingles)”
Short Code – This can be used later in the serial number template if you require
Image – This is used to as preview thumbnail in the order form
Is Active – Yes
3D Model – Open the 3d Catalog and select the texture of your choice
