How to

Setup Colors for Options

Summary: In this article we will explain how colors like paint, metal, vinyl, stain, and shingle textures can be added. It is important to understand that colors are not the same as options. First add colors and then later add options and link the appropriate colors to the appropriate options. For example add 10 paint colors and then later add an LP Smartside Siding option. Within the Siding option select the “allowable colors”.

Add Paint, Metal, Vinyl and Stain Colors

  1. Navigate to System > Catalogs > Color

  2. Click Add Color

  3. Fill out the required fields

    1. Name – It is helpful to apply a naming convention that specifies what the color is for e.g. “Blue (paint)”

    2. Hex Code – You can use a variety of tools to get hex codes for your colors. Here is a free online option: https://imagecolorpicker.com/

    3. Short Code – This can be used later in the serial number template if you require

    4. Is Active – Yes

    5. Type – Select Standard in most cases, if you think Custom may be better refer to this article here: https://theshedapp.atlassian.net/l/cp/cr9TYRGh
